The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were as follows. Total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states) in January-June 2009 amounted to EUR 2,785.2 mln, compared with EUR 3,593.5 mln in January-June 2008. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states) in January-June 2009 amounted to EUR 478.1 mln, compared with EUR 590.7 mln in January-June 2008. The trade deficit was EUR 2,307.0 mln in January-June 2009 compared with EUR 3,002.8 mln in January-June 2008. During June 2009 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states) valued at EUR 472.5 mln. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states), including stores and provisions, in June 2009 amounted to EUR 82.1 mln. [eth]oxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, reached EUR 37.0 mln whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were recorded at EUR 45.0 mln. Meanwhile, preliminary data for July report a trade deficit of EUR 364 mln. Total imports/ arrivals of EUR 445.4 mln, of which EUR 307.7 mln were arrivals from other member states of the EU and EUR 137.6 mln imports from third countries.
