:CY) and Right Track CAD Corp. announced today that they have signed a multi-year agreement to collaborate on the research and development of architectures and software for Cypress's next-generation programmable logic offerings. The agreement is expected to produce new architectures within two years, and will put in place architectural modeling capabilities such that successive new product development will be quicker and more cost effective.

"Right Track's unique blend of architecture, software and circuit design expertise complements Cypress's PLD design and manufacturing capabilities," said Christopher Norris, vice president of Cypress's Programmable Logic Division. "In particular, Right Track's architecture-independent software tools will allow us to explore and analyze the impact of a wide range of architectures. The result will be an optimized architecture for our next-generation PLDs."

"This agreement is a testament to Right Track's capabilities to develop new PLDs from the ground up," said Jonathan Rose, Right Track's President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . "We have the breadth and depth of expertise to concurrently develop PLD architectures and software. This capability is crucial when designing for deep sub-micron technologies where architectures have to be optimized across process technology, electrical (i.e. transistor level) design and CAD software."
