Cypress Taps Paul Bentley to Head European Sales.

:CY) has promoted Northern European sales director, Paul Bentley, to head up pan-European sales. Propelled by an increase in design win revenues of 25 percent last year, the company is hoping a new managing director and its broadest product portfolio in years will enable the company to claim greater market share. Bentley joined Cypress in 1996 as European distribution director and was promoted to northern regional sales director four years later. During his tenure the company has managed to penetrate the mobile phone market in Europe, resulting in significant new revenue. Bentley started his career in semiconductor distribution in 1986 at Memec, and later served as a sales representative for Spectrum, another European components distributor.

As managing director, Bentley will oversee Cypress's regional sales offices in Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden the U.K., and sales representatives serving the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Africa Europe, the Middle East and Africa, usually abbreviated to EMEA, is a regional designation used for government, marketing and business purposes. It is particularly common amongst North American based companies, who often divide their international operations into the  (EMEA).
