, today announced that its MoBL-USB[TM] TX2 high-speed USB 2.0 transceiver supports the Marvell PXA3xx application processor platform from Marvell Technology Group Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL) is an American producer of storage, communications and consumer semiconductor products. Their products can be found in a range of applications:

UTMI Usb Transceiver Macrocell Interface
standard, and has been tested in collaboration with the PXA3xx platform.

Cypress also supports the Marvell PXA3xx platform with the MoBL([R]) (More Battery Life[TM]) Dual Ports with Address/Data Multiplexed (ADM) interface. As bandwidth-hungry multimedia functions increase smartphone processing requirements, processors are adding the pin-saving ADM interface to allocate sufficient dedicated I/Os for these functions. Cypress's MoBL ADM Dual Ports enable a direct interconnect between the Marvell PXA3xx applications processor and the system baseband in 3G and 3.5G dual-processor smartphones. This minimizes system costs, reduces board space and provides a faster and simpler design cycle for next-generation multimedia handsets.

"Cypress is pleased to offer leading-edge, market-differentiated solutions to support Marvell's launch of the PXA3xx processor platform," said Babak Hedayati, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing for Cypress. "We have enjoyed success in the handset market with multiple programmable products that deliver flexibility and increased performance, including CapSense capacitive touch interfaces, USB solutions and MoBL dual-port interconnects. We look forward to continued innovation in cooperation with Marvell."

"Marvell is excited to have Cypress partner with us for platform readiness of the Marvell PXA3xx processor family," said Sam Arditi, Senior Vice President of the Cellular and Handheld Group at Marvell. "Cypress's MoBL solutions readily enhance platform power efficiency and performance for Marvell PXA3xx processor based platforms, speeding time to market for OEMs and ODMs."
