Cymphonix to Release New Software and Hardware Platforms for Smart Gateway Appliances; Network Composer Doubles Throughput Capabilities to Provide Organizations with Greater Flexibility and Performance for Improved Internet Data Stream Control.

LAS VEGAS -- Cymphonix today announced new hardware platforms and software developments for its award-winning Network Composer, a smart gateway appliance that solves the problems created when users, applications and threats fight for limited network resources. The new hardware and software addresses increasing bandwidth demands in today's market with higher throughput and processing power to give companies the performance and flexibility they require.

New Hardware with Increased Throughput

With two new hardware platforms, the Network Composer DC30 and DC30X, Cymphonix has more than doubled throughput capacity -- making its technology available to larger networks within the small and medium business space. The Network Composer DC30 can handle Internet connections up to 5 Mbps, while the DC30X is meant for higher-rate connections of up to 20 Mbps.

Both platforms ship with licenses for 100 users, and organizations have the option to add users in several increments from 250 additional users up to 5,000. These choices give businesses a customized network solution tailored precisely to their needs, while still being capable of adapting to organizational shifts. The DC30 and DC30X will replace Cymphonix's NC400, NC1500 and NC3000 appliances. The NC75 is still available for Internet connections up to 1.5 Mbps.

"With bandwidth so vital to today's organizations, managers need the ability to ensure that it's available for their mission-critical traffic," said Cymphonix CEO Kevin Santiago. "Network Composer gives them the ability to block undesirable and malicious traffic and prioritize their mission-critical traffic, whether their organization has 15 people or five thousand."

New Software Features

Version 6.5 of the Network Composer software streamlines the setup procedure, and with fail-to-wire functionality now available across all platforms, customers can also be assured their mission-critical traffic is always moving through the appliance.

The new version includes an additional management port that allows the administrator to assign a second IP address to the unit for a dedicated management interface, easy setup of custom signatures for proprietary or unknown applications and new reporting options with functional reports tailored to human resources, IT and management.

Pricing and Availability

Cymphonix Network Composer starts at $1,995 for the NC75, a significant value over what it would cost a company to purchase comparable products such as application and user performance management, bandwidth shaping, gateway anti-virus and anti-spyware, IM logging, and content filtering. Network Composer 6.5 will be available late May for download for existing customers with maintenance agreements. The DC30 and DC30X platforms will be available in late May through Cymphonix channel partners.
