NEW YORK -- Cymphonix today announced the release of Network Composer Version 6, which delivers unified threat management and application performance control in a single, easily managed appliance. The new release provides organizations with increased visibility, protection and control over the use of network resources and enables them to optimize connections between distributed environments.

The unique combination of gateway security and performance management gives administrators a comprehensive look into their network to see potential threats, where those threats are originating and entering the network, and which applications or users are putting a strain on network resources. --Identification and one-click control of all non-standard traffic -- While industry standards require application signatures for only standard traffic, Network Composer logs all traffic and allows users to create custom signatures with just one click. --LDAP integration -- With the ability to scan, identify and control traffic by LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) user profile, administrators can set policies and track activities for a user regardless of the machine they use to access the network.

--Customizable, MAC-based authentication -- The capabilities of Network Composer can be extended to public networks so hot spots, libraries, schools and other public entities can block unwanted users or request payment, registration or verification of users who request access to the Internet resources.

Network Composer utilizes the Cymphonix Cross-Layer Intelligence(TM) (XLi) engine, which scans traffic across all layers of networking communications, identifies undesirable content using industry-leading dynamic libraries and automatically shuts down malicious traffic and prioritizes mission-critical traffic according to the administrator settings.
