Cygnus launches auto category title; enters into licensing deal w/ EBSCO.

Cygnus Publishing (Fort Atkinson, WI), the publishing arm of Cygnus Business Media (Melville, NY), will begin the publication of Collision Repair Product News with an issue in February. The new title will be published six times a year with a controlled circulation of 60,000 body shop owners, technicians, PBE distributors and related professionals.

The magazine is described as the "only product-based publication reaching the industry with a complete focus on PBE tools, equipment and supplies." It will be modeled after Cygnus' Professional Tool & Equipment News, a title focused on tools and equipment serving the automotive aftermarket. "Manufacturers now have a marketing outlet that reaches every customer and decision-maker in their marketplace," Cygnus group vice president Paul Bowers said. "Based on the enormous success of our other product news magazines, we've designed CRPN in the style and format our subscribers enjoy, including both shop owners and technicians in the back of the shop."

Besides CRPN and Professional Tool & Equipment News, related Cygnus titles include Professional Distributor.

Also, Cygnus has entered into a content licensing agreement with EBSC0 Publishing (Birmingham, AL) to distribute Cygnus' editorial. Cygnus produces over 65 trade magazines across 15 markets, including agriculture, construction equipment, building, fire rescue & EMS, law enforcement, landscape and printing, among others.
