Cygnet Storage Solutions, Inc., today announced that two of its flagship systems, the InfiniWriter(tm) and id 100(tm), are now supported by SmartCD Duplicator, version 1.0.

The new duplication software from Smart Storage enhances the extensive and high-efficiency features of the InfiniWriter(tm) and id 100(tm) turning them into ideal CD-R production systems for a wide range of applications -- from check imaging to software distribution, from archiving to in-house "just in time" CD duplication.

SmartCD Duplicator is a unique CD-R duplication and pre-mastering software package that makes the most of the scalability and powerful robotics of the InfiniWriter(tm) for CD duplication solutions. InfiniWriter's(tm) modular design enables users to expand their duplication/premastering capacity as their requirements increase.

Powered by SmartCD Duplicator, the InfiniWriter(tm) and id 100(tm) can perform duplication and premastering effortlessly and intelligently by using Smart Resource Management technology that will allow the user to create single copies of multiple images or multiple copies of a single image independently or simultaneously. While you are away, the InfiniWriter(tm) managed by SmartCD Duplicator will transport media in and out of the CD-R drives, record, verify and print surface labels on the CDs. Concurrently, it will record each job's progress, ensure data integrity and provide verification as well as useful statistics.

SmartCD Duplicator runs on a Windows NT 4.0 workstation or server and includes premastering and duplication software for Windows NT, Windows 95 and Unix. Network and printer modules are components supported for the InfiniWriter(tm). SmartCD Duplicator offers comprehensive CD format support, including CD-DA, ISO-9660, Rockridge, Joliet, UFS, HFS and HFS/ISO hybrid CDs. The list price ranges from $1,000 to $3,000 depending on the Cygnet Jukebox configuration selected.

The InfiniWriter(tm), based on Cygnet's industry acknowledged Infinidisc(tm) CD jukebox platform, is a fully automated CD-production system that accommodates up to six CD-R drives and a printer used to duplicate, premaster and label up to 250 discs at a time. It is available at a suggested list price of less than $25, 000.

The id 100(tm) is a CD-production tool or network back-up system available with five removable disc magazines that hold 20 CDs each. Configured with up to four recordable drives, it can write up to 100 CDs without changing magazines. List price begins at just over $5,000.
