Cygent Appoints George Via to the Board of Directors.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2002

Mr. Via, a thirty-four year industry veteran, most recently held the position of Senior Vice President-Operations in the Advanced Data division of Verizon.

Prior to his current position at Verizon, he was group vice president and chief engineer for Bell Atlantic and executive vice president-Customer Solutions for Telcordia. He also served on the board of overseers of the New Jersey Institute of Technology and as Chairman on the board of directors for the QuEST Forum (Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications).
