Cycomm Subsidiary Receives Initial Order from Another Major U.S. City for its Rugged Computers.

, XL Computing Corp. has received an order from INFOTECH International Inc. to provide the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department with 177 of its rugged laptops, PCMobile, for the first phase of its communication system upgrade.

INFOTECH is a major provider of hardware and software to the public safety industry. XL Computing Corp. is scheduled to begin delivery of the PCMobile units to Washington, D.C.'s police departments later this month with additional orders for approximately 400 units to follow. This order represents one of the largest orders Cycomm has received for PCMobile to date.

The purchase of PCMobile is part of the modernization of the communications and information technology system of the City's police department and other public safety agencies.

The PCMobile units will be installed in police vehicles and will provide D.C.'s officers with reliable access to the information they need to perform their jobs. By using PCMobile to process data, officers will enhance their speed and efficiency and reduce the amount of paperwork, thereby improving service to the citizens of Washington, D.C.

The PCMobile rugged laptop was specifically designed for performance under the severe operating conditions of Public Safety environments. The sealed magnesium housing can survive a 3 foot drop on concrete and withstands coffee or soda spills. The backlit An LCD screen that has its own light source from the back of the screen, making the background brighter and characters appear sharper.  keyboard is a unique feature that enables operation at night while maintaining officer safety.

The 133 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock.
