Peter Hickey, president and chief executive officer of Cycomm, stated that "developing partnering relationships with outstanding organizations, such as Transdata, is evidence of Cycomm's new aggressive Global Marketing Plan.

"All of the emerging market countries of Latin America, the Pacific Rim Pacific Rim, term used to describe the nations bordering the Pacific Ocean and the island countries situated in it. In the post–World War II era, the Pacific Rim has become an increasingly important and interconnected economic region.  and Africa offer outstanding opportunities for the Cycomm line of wireless and wireline privacy products."

"The emerging market countries are rapidly expanding cellular and wireless systems as a way of bypassing traditional telephone infrastructures due to the high costs of installing such wire-based systems," Hickey said. "In addition, since leaders of such nations see the wireless systems as a way of rapidly bringing their people into the modern communications era, this offers Cycomm an outstanding opportunity because current wireless systems provide no or little inherent privacy protection."
