New switch targeted for user who has multiple computers and needs

to access secure and unsecured networks from one set of peripherals

Cybex Computer Products Corporation (Nasdaq:CBXC), the world's premier provider of switching, extension and remote access solutions, today announced the immediate availability of SwitchViewSC, the most secure KVM (K Virtual Machine) A version of the Java Virtual Machine for small devices with limited memory. See J2ME. See also KVM switch.

KVM - Keyboard Video Mouse
(keyboard, video, mouse) switch available today. This compact switch allows users to access up to four computers with one keyboard, monitor and mouse, and is targeted for applications that require maximum security, such as government agencies, corporate headquarters and military offices. The design architecture of the SwitchViewSC makes it impossible to transfer data between the connected computers, an important factor for a user who may access secure and unsecure networks from one point of contact.

SwitchViewSC has an estimated retail price of $349 (U.S.).

&uot;We've recognized that there are customers who require a switch that is designed to make data sharing The ability to share the same data resource with multiple applications or users. It implies that the data are stored in one or more servers in the network and that there is some software locking mechanism that prevents the same set of data from being changed by two people at the same time.  impossible between channels,&uot; said Stephen Thornton, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Cybex. &uot;The SwitchViewSC isolates the attached computers. In addition, the chips are programmed and socketed at Cybex to ensure the integrity of the firmware A category of memory chips that hold their content without electrical power. Firmware includes flash, ROM, PROM, EPROM and EEPROM technologies. When holding program instructions, firmware can be thought of as "hard software." See flash memory, ROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM and FOTA. .&uot;

The enhanced security features of the SwitchViewSC include the following:

-- Automatically clears all keyboard buffer A memory bank or reserved memory area that stores keystrokes until the program can accept them. It lets fast typists continue typing while the program catches up.  immediately after data

is transmitted through the switch, so no data is left behind

within the switch.

-- &uot;Hot-key&uot; functionality has been removed, thereby eliminating a

potential unwanted mode of access to the switch.

-- Cascading has been eliminated to prevent the possibility of any

external device from detecting the presence of the SwitchViewSC.

-- The firmware is programmed and installed at Cybex headquarters in

the U.S. in order to reduce opportunities for tampering tampering The adulteration of a thing. See Drug tampering.  in

transit.

-- The SwitchViewSC firmware is socketed in order to facilitate any

necessary security audits. Standard SwitchView features include

LEDs which indicate which computers are online and which one is

currently selected. Installation is easy since there are no DIP

switches to configure See configuration.
