Cybex International Elects Three New Outside Directors.

MEDWAY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 2000

Cybex International, Inc. (AMEX: CYB), a leading exercise equipment manufacturer, announced today that William E. Mahoney, Darrell S. Ross and David D. Fleming have been elected directors of the company, expanding board membership to ten.

Mahoney, 68, is retired vice chairman, chief operating officer and a director of Witco Corporation, a global manufacturer of chemical and petroleum specialty products with sales in excess of $2 billion. He is also a director of J. M. Huber Corporation, a large privately held chemicals and natural resources company, and is on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts, where he was the recipient of the Chancellor's Medal for extraordinary service to industry and the university.

Ross, 53, is president and chief executive officer of Ross-Simons, a family business begun in 1952 that has grown into one of the largest value-priced U.S. retailers of fine jewelry, silverware, china, crystal, collectibles and home decor items. Since joining the business in 1974, Ross has added catalog merchandising, outlet stores, additional branch stores and a vibrant Internet site to the company's successful retailing operations. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Yale College and holds a law degree from Harvard Law School, also magna cum laude.

Fleming, 52, is group senior vice president, member of the chairman's office and a corporate officer of Genzyme Corporation, with responsibility for Genzyme's diagnostic products businesses worldwide. Genzyme, a leading biotechnology company, provides healthcare products and services to profoundly improve the lives of patients worldwide. Prior to joining Genzyme, Fleming served in a variety of general management, sales and marketing positions with Baxter International. He is vice chairman of both New England Baptist Hospital and the Massachusetts Technology Park Corporation. He is co-founder of HealthPoint, a CareGroup Fitness and Wellness Center, and is a member of the board of directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association in Washington, D.C.
