Cyberlink and DiBcom Partner to Provide DVB-H Solutions for PC and Handheld Devices; DVB-T Pioneers Combine Hardware and Software Expertise to Develop Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows XP DVB-H Solution.

PALAISEAU, France -- DVB-T See DVB.  pioneers Cyberlink and DiBcom today announced that they will co-develop a Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows XP DVB-H See mobile TV and DVB.  solution to allow mobile TV reception on PCs and handheld devices, such as PDAs. The companies have worked together for many years, developing solutions for the rapidly expanding DVB-T market where millions of DVB-T demodulators have already been shipped.

"Mobile TV is a hot growing trend -- we feel the time is right to provide a complete hardware and software solution for customers in the DVB-H market," said Alice H. Chang, CyberLink's CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . "Through our long-term cooperation with leading DVB-H provider DiBcom, we are able to develop CyberLink Mobile TV Solution for our customers."

technology creates a complete solution for end-users to quickly enter a fast growing market. This solution will combine Cyberlink's new DVB-H application building blocks with DiBcom's highly-integrated DVB-H technology in its recently introduced DIB-7070H chip. Form factors for this solution will initially be available in DVB-H SDIO Cards for Windows Mobile 5.0 handheld devices, quickly followed by DVB-H USB sticks for Windows XP-based PCs and UMPCs. A full software solution, including power management, support for handover (which has been field tested) and enhanced zapping time, is also available for easy integration.

"DiBcom and Cyberlink have worked together for many years -- and have similar customers using both company's DVB-T products currently in the market today," said Yannick Levy DiBcom's CEO. "This co-development effort is a natural next step to jointly develop a DVB-H solution for PDAs and PC-based devices."

Cyberlink's Mobile TV Solution

Based on the Digital Video Broadcasting to Handhelds standard (DVB-H), CyberLink Mobile TV Solution incorporates technologies that support the playback of audio-video bitstream and Electronic Service Guide (ESG ESG Enterprise Strategy Group (Veritas)

) data to a standards-based device. CyberLink's solution is also compliant with the Convergence of Broadcast and Mobile Services (DVB-CBMS) specifications for Internet Protocol Datacasting using DVB-H.

In the U.S., analog television has used UHF channels 52 to 69 in the 700 MHz band.  and L-bands in Europe, Asia and the US. The all-CMOS technology offers a very low-power consumption (0.4W in continuous mode and approximately 40mW in DVB-H mode based on the "time-slicing" process) which adapts automatically to the signal quality.

This is the first time a new standard has arrived on the market with optimum performance -- rather than gradually improving from a typical to high level of performance. DiBcom's "proven performance" criteria may become a requirement for every network. The "proven performance" offers better coverage at half the cost for mobile operators, and provides good reception quality of up to 150 km/h for any UHF frequency and in an 8K mode. Another fast evolving requirement from operators is to be able to offer multiple DVB-H services simultaneously, which is also supported by the DIB7070-H chipset.

Availability

A complete hardware and software DVB-H solution is available in Q4 2006, enabling end-user's to launch their DVB-H products into the market in Q1 2007.
