CyberLink SoftDMA offers the following breakthrough technologies:

-- A Software Solution for Accessing Media remotely from a UPnP Digital Media Server

CyberLink SoftDMA provides an alternative to hardware-based solutions that allow users to access and enjoy photos, music, and video over a UPnP network. SoftDMA works in conjunction with a media server--like CyberLink Media Server--to access files. SoftDMA can simultaneously access multiple servers across a wired or wireless UPnP network, ensuring greater flexibility in sharing content within the digital home.

-- A UPnP Client for PC Systems Based on Intel(R) Viiv(TM) Technology

CyberLink SoftDMA offers a networking solution designed for the upcoming Intel's latest digital home platform based on Intel(R) Viiv(TM) Technology, giving access to media available over a UPnP/DTCP-IP network and the internet. SoftDMA will also support access to applications designed to the Intel(R) Viiv(TM) technology specifications for remote networking. Compatibility with leading file formats and conformance to UPnP design requirements ensures broad compatibility between other qualified UPnP devices. Remote wake-up supports UPnP power management for media servers based on Intel(R) Viiv(TM) Technology.

-- A Software Based Digital Media Adaptor

CyberLink SoftDMA delivers the perfect solution for notebook and desktop within the digital home, enabling access to media files streamed across a UPnP network. As a software solution installed on a user's notebook or desktop, SoftDMA optimizes convenience and mobility by eliminating the need for hardware-based digital media adaptor. SoftDMA supports the secured wireless network formats WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) An IEEE standard security protocol for wireless 802.11 networks. Introduced in 1997, WEP was found to be very inadequate and was superseded by WPA, WPA2 and 802.11i.  and WPA WPA: see Work Projects Administration.
