CyberAction Takes Trading Cards Into the Future; Introducing CyberAction Cards: The First Purely Digital Trading Cards.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1998--

"Xena: Warrior Princess The concept of warrior princesses is relatively new in fiction but it became increasingly popular with the feminist movement's successes in female empowerment, gradually pushing the stereotype of a "damsel in distress" to the background. " To Be Inaugural Set

The gods (and the fans) have spoken. CyberAction has taken the collectible industry to the next level with the introduction of CyberAction Cards: the first purely digital trading cards. Studio USA's "Xena: Warrior Princess" will be the inaugural set of Cards available through CyberAction's web site (www.cyberaction.com).

CyberAction Cards are ordered and downloaded over the Internet. These digital trading cards feature embedded Inserted into. "Xena: Warrior Princess," currently the top-rated syndicated program, has taken the world by storm since first airing in 1995. With a fan base in the tens of millions, it would not be an understatement to say Xena has moved beyond its status as "cult hit" to "international phenomenon." CyberAction's Xena Card Series (licensed by Universal Studios Online and Universal Studios Consumer Products Group) captures all the excitement of this smash-hit, with Cards capturing the most exciting highlights form select Xena episodes.

"Xena was a perfect way to launch our product," adds Marion. "On the web, Xena is royalty. The show's savvy and loyal fans have been demanding new and innovative collectibles for a long time. At CyberAction, we have invented the solution to that demand - digital trading cards which provide the true fan so much more than traditional cards."

Collectors store, view and play their Cards in the CyberViewer(TM), a digital shoebox that is downloaded free from the CyberAction site. Since the Limited Edition CyberAction Cards are encrypted en·crypt

The market for trading cards is a large one. Industry-wide sales are estimated to be around $700 million per year. Though the industry has gone through considerable change over the past several years, CyberAction's efforts are unprecedented and represent the future of trading cards online. By introducing the sale of a purely digital product as opposed to "hard" goods like books or CDs, CyberAction is truly on the cutting edge of the e-commerce revolution.

"Collectibles are a way for fans to feel like they own a piece of their favorite show," said Michelle Katz, vice president of Business and Legal Affairs for Universal Studios New Media Group. "Trading cards appeal to fans of every age. CyberAction Cards take trading cards to the next level.
