Cyber-Ark Unveils Significant Enhancements to Enterprise Password Vault(TM).

Version 4.1 Introduces Industry's First Auto-Detection Capability, Providing Dramatic Improvements for Customers Managing Windows Administrator Passwords

NEWTON, Mass. -- Cyber-Ark[R] Software, the information security software company that develops and markets Digital Vaults for securing and managing privileged passwords and highly-sensitive information, today announced significant enhancements to its award-winning Enterprise Password Vault vault, ceiling over a room, formed in any one of a variety of curved shapes. Nature of Vaults

A vault is generally composed of separate units of material, such as bricks, tiles, or blocks of stone, so shaped or cut that when assembled they form a
[TM] that provide dramatic improvements in efficiency, compliance and flexibility.

The latest version, Enterprise Password Vault 4.1, proposes a compelling proposition for Local Administrator password management in a Microsoft desktop environment with not only the industry's first auto-detection capability for Windows machines, but out-of-the-box support for managing Windows local Administrator accounts, as well as enhanced workflow The automatic routing of documents to the users responsible for working on them. Workflow is concerned with providing the information required to support each step of the business cycle.  support for improving compliance with enterprise policies and more.

Using Enterprise Password Vault, customers can effectively secure, manage, update and control privileged user accounts, including generic accounts like Administrator on Windows platforms, root on Unix systems Noun 1. UNIX system - trademark for a powerful operating system

Building on top of the robust foundations and success of previous Enterprise Password Vault releases, key new features of Enterprise Password Vault 4.1 include:

* Auto-Detection for Windows Machines

Version 4.1 introduces the industry's first auto-detection capability, providing dramatic improvements for customers managing Windows Administrator passwords. This allows organizations to transparently populate To plug in chips or components into a printed circuit board.  process ensures that changes, such as machines joining or being removed from the domain, are captured and automatically reflected in the Password Vault. * Exclusive One-Time Passwords (security) One-Time Password - (OTP) A security system that requires a new password every time a user authenticates themselves, thus protecting against an intruder replaying an intercepted password. OTP generates passwords using either the MD4 or MD5 hashing algorithms.

Auditing and control standards often require a password that is released to a user to be locked and unavailable to other users. This makes each password a true one-time password instance and ensures an exclusive usage of the privileged account. A one-time password allows guaranteed accountability between a privileged session and the person behind it, thus solving auditing and monitoring requirements.

* Password Check-In

A complementary solution to making passwords exclusive is the ability for users to explicitly "check-in" (or "release") a password once they have finished using it. By checking in the password, compliance workflows can accurately show who used a privileged password at any given time and help provide a proven audit trail for monitoring and accountability.

* Flexible Password Change Error Management

The ability for flexible password change error management is very important to ensure reliability and transparency (1) The quality of being able to see through a material. The terms transparency and translucency are often used synonymously; however, transparent would technically mean "seeing through clear glass," while translucent would mean "seeing through frosted glass." See alpha blending. . Version 4.1 introduces flexible settings that improve the automation of password change processes and limit human intervention in the error recovery process. This is especially valuable when managing desktops and laptops which are, by definition, loosely connected machines and often disconnected from the network.

"More than 120 businesses around the globe rely on Enterprise Password Vault to automate To turn a set of manual steps into an operation that goes by itself. "With the release of version 4.1, we've made it even easier for our customers to gain control of these critical IT assets as well as dramatically reduce implementation costs and management overhead."
