Cybear Announces Bioterrorism Resource Center; Offers Physicians Access to Bioterrorism Informational and Educational Resources.

Cybear Inc., a member of Andrx Corporation - Cybear Group (Nasdaq:CYBA), today announced that its web portal, Physicians' Online (POL), has launched a Bioterrorism Resource Center for physicians. Hosted at www.pol.net, the center contains news and medical references as well as discussion forums, alert-messaging, and communications tools designed to educate, provide clinical information and facilitate interaction between physicians.

"Within a few hours of the attack on September 11th, physicians began discussing preparedness for bioterrorism, and it soon became apparent that they needed accessible, reliable, and current resources. Physicians' Online, with its a broad base of 225,000 physicians who are already using the site, is positioned to effectively provide the medical community with a resource that we believe will be of immeasurable value to physicians within the context of our present-day environment," he concluded.

As part of the Bioterrorism Resource Center, Cybear and MedCases, an online medical education company, have jointly developed a physician education module on anthrax for which physicians can earn up to two hours of CME credits (AMA Category 1) upon completion. The program's purpose is to prepare physicians for the diagnosis and management of patients presenting severe flu-like symptoms who are concerned that they may have anthrax. The course contains extensive multimedia applications designed to further educate physicians and also to provide links to relevant websites. The program allows physicians to treat an interactive simulated patient.

As patient care issues emerge within their practices, physicians can post clinical questions within discussion forums. Additionally, the Bioterrorism Resource Center can be used to support the public health infrastructure by serving as an emergency or early alert system for physicians, educating physicians using expert speakers, participating in sentinel disease detection systems, recruiting physicians as needed to support public health initiatives, providing physicians with current news and information updates, disseminating educational materials for physicians and their patients and dispelling rumors and correcting false information.
