CybeRecord, Inc. (OTC: CYRD) announced today that it has appointed Michael Leslie as manufacturing manager.

Mr. Leslie has 15 years of manufacturing management experience producing equipment similar to the company's ScanServer, the first economical, automatic, high-quality, and high-speed microfilm scanner.

"Michael is an asset to our team because he has participated in a successful QS-9000 audit and registration, a much more demanding quality-control system than CybeRecord's targeted ISO 9001 certification, a necessary qualification to expand our customer base worldwide," said James Lucas, the company's chairman and chief executive officer. "In addition, he has a wealth of manufacturing management experience in products similar to ScanServer, which resembles a desktop xerographic copier or laser printer in size, components, and operation."

ScanServer's push-button operation requires no special training. The scanner automates and enhances digitization of microfilm records in a multitude of formats, with no operator intervention. It is the first microfilm scanner available on a monthly rental and -- when possible -- overnight-replacement program, which allows organizations to install as many scanners as necessary for the time they need them, with no capital expenditure and no worry about equipment breakdowns.

Mr. Leslie's production strategy is to oversee ScanServer's initial assembly process in-house to quickly identify and resolve manufacturing problems and ensure product outflow and quality. He will soon appoint contract manufacturers for nearly all assembly and maintain a limited monthly in-house output as a safety net against outside production problems.

Mr. Leslie began his manufacturing management career shortly after college, when he assumed control of his family's six-month-old contract manufacturing company, a printed circuit board and chassis assembler, upon his father's death. Within a couple of years, he grew the company from one to 20 customers and from 10 to 50 employees. Primary clients included Hewlett-Packard, PDC (Perfect Distribution & Control), a market leader in traffic-light controllers, and Uniphase, a leader in gas laser systems.

When smaller circuit board components demanded robotic assembly, he decided to close his company rather than invest in expensive automated equipment. He then became manufacturing manager for Zendex, a computer controller manufacturer for aerospace and industrial applications. Nine years later, he moved to QB Rebuilders, an after-market rebuilder for automotive and aerospace companies. There, he was part of the management team to successfully complete a QS-9000 audit and registration, a quality-control regimen of 59 pages as opposed to ISO 9001's nine pages. He also trained production team members in "lean manufacturing" principles, using statistical process control measures to continuously improve production techniques.
