Cyanotech plans major capacity expansion for natural astaxanthin.KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 1997-- 88 acres to be added in Hawaii to produce astaxanthin Cyanotech Corp. (NASDAQ/NMS:CYAN) has received approval of its proposal to the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority to lease 88 additional acres within the Hawaii Ocean Science and Technology (HOST) Park. This lease will double Cyanotech's total acreage within the HOST Park to 178 acres. The site will be used to construct additional production capacity for the company's new commercial microalgae product, NatuRose, which was announced to the industry at the World Aquaculture aquaculture, the raising and harvesting of fresh- and saltwater plants and animals.
