Cy Twombly: Fifty Years of Works on Paper.


PINAKOTHEK DER MODERNE The Pinakothek der Moderne is a modern art museum, situated in the city centre of Munich, Germany. Together with the Alte Pinakothek and the Neue Pinakothek it is part of Munich's "Kunstareal" (the "art district").  

Some people think Cy Twombly's paintings are little more than glorified glo·ri·fy

They'll be able to check whether there's a difference of more than support and scale by visiting this exhibition of works on paper, organized by Michael Semff and Julie Sylvester (and on view at the Hermitage until September 21), in honor of the artist's seventy-fifth birthday. The eighty-six items on view, covering half a century of work, should serve both to chart Twombly's development as an artist and to isolate the specific nature of his draftsmanship drafts·man
