Cuyahoga Community College Names Dr. Michael Schoop Metropolitan Campus President.

CLEVELAND, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Cuyahoga Community College announced today that Dr. Michael Schoop has been named president of Tri-C's Metropolitan Campus. Schoop comes to Tri-C from Harry S. Truman College in Chicago where he has served as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs since 2003. He will begin his duties at Tri-C on Monday, May 1.

"We are looking forward to the leadership Dr. Schoop will bring to our Metropolitan Campus and his joining our management team. He has an impressive list of academic and administrative credentials that demonstrate a strong commitment to helping students achieve success in their personal and professional lives," said Tri-C President Dr. Jerry Sue Thornton.

Schoop received his baccalaureate degree from the University of Chicago and both his Master's and Doctorate from the University of Maryland. He has taught numerous undergraduate courses in writing and composition and has given presentations at regional and national conferences on higher education and the field of rhetoric.

In his recent graduate studies, he has focused on the intersection between finance, organizational development, and learning innovation taking place at America's community colleges.
