Cutietta appointed dean of USC School of Music. (Items of Interest).Robert Cutietta, a specialist in music education, is the new dean of the University of Southern California (USC) Thornton School of Music. For the past three years, Cutietta has been professor and director of the School of Music and Dance at the University of Arizona. His areas of expertise include the middle-school learner, choral education, learning theories and the psychology of music. Cutietta earned an Ed.D. in music education at Pennsylvania State University in 1982 and master's and bachelor's degrees from Cleveland State University Cleveland State University, at Cleveland, Ohio; coeducational; founded 1964, incorporating Fenn College (est. 1923). The Cleveland-Marshall School of law was incorporated in 1969. The university presently consists of seven colleges, including arts and sciences, business administration, engineering, education, law, graduate studies, and urban affairs. in 1978 and 1975, respectively. Cutietta succeeds Larry J. Livingston, who has been appointed director of USC's arts center project. |
