Her new school-year resolution? A place for everything and everything in its place. Our solution? A BRIGHT IDEA Kendall was tired of the boring basics and wanted Lane to bring in bright hues and other exhilarating elements that would better express her personality. The other challenge? Help Kendall clean up her disaster of a room while giving her crib a fun, cool look--all without the unfun high-end designer price tag. They thumbed through catalogs, like PBteen, placing orders for bedding and lighting, then decided to hit some stores for details. During their shopping spree, Lane came across beaded flower-shaped placemats. Placemats? Yep, with just a few finishing nails, the placemats added wow to the walls for next to nothing. THE HANG OF IT It was important to Kendall to have a hang-out space for friends. Her old room was dark and dreary with little light for reading and studying. Kendall's craft projects took over the floor, while papers and textbooks flooded the desk. Lane and Kendall found some great options for getting organized. Low-height baskets from PBteen are perfect for under-the-bed storage. THE STUDY SPOT Lane picked up some great organization items from Target to help get a handle on Kendall's desk clutter: a desk set with a pen-and-pencil holder, mini bins for nail polish and jewelry jewelry, personal adornments worn for ornament or utility, to show rank or wealth, or to follow superstitious custom or fashion. The most universal forms of jewelry are the necklace, bracelet, ring, pin, and earring. , and a green flower-shaped wastebasket. A red-and-pink beaded curtain from shopwildthings.com separates the shelf and desk. And, of course, a girl needs adequate lighting to better read her GL.
