Power & Light Company reported today that 11,200 customers remain without power as a result of Hurricane Frances This article is about the Atlantic hurricane of 2004; for other storms of the same name, see Hurricane Frances (disambiguation)
Hurricane Frances was the sixth named storm, the fourth hurricane, and the third major hurricane of the 2004 Atlantic hurricane season.

The company has more than 16,000 workers engaged in the massive restoration effort that began eleven days ago after Frances struck Florida's east coast on Labor Day Labor Day, holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada on the first Monday in September to honor the laborer. It was inaugurated by the Knights of Labor in 1882 and made a national holiday by the U.S. Congress in 1894.  Weekend.

For the past eleven days, FPL's restoration crews have worked 16-hour days in an effort to restore power as part of a well-rehearsed restoration plan. The company reports the plan has been executed within the restoration dates announced last week after a damage assessment was performed in the 35 Florida counties served by FPL. The company plans to complete the enormous restoration drive by end of day Friday Friday: see Sabbath; week.

As the FPL crews worked today and Friday, the company reports that there may be customers who may be facing problems with their power that must be serviced on an individual basis. For example, a neighborhood may have power, but because of a damaged weatherhead A weatherhead is a weatherproof entry point for above-ground electrical wiring or telephone lines into a home or business.
