Customer Retention Analysis.

A new service from Washington, D.C.-based Furash & Co. permits retail bankers to compare their customer retention with industry averages. CoRE (Comprehensive Retention Evaluation services) is intended to compare a bank's core deposit retention rates with the industry as a whole. Subscribers receive quarterly reports based on the company's database of attrition statistics, maintained by product category.

A subscribing bank can compare its own attrition data on the basis of an industrywide or an anonymous peer profile (based on asset size and geographic region). Furash does not reveal names of the specific institutions in the database, nor does it permit subscribers to make comparisons with other individual institutions.

The program can be used to analyze deposit-retention performance, anticipate potential attrition and defections and to support information-driven retention efforts, Furash says.
