Custom seals.

Custom manufactured silicone seals, especially designed for use in flapper valves on aircraft evacuation chutes and life raft inflation systems, are available from this molded rubber products manufacturer. Because of the critical performance requirements of the flapper valve seals, their manufacture is said to require a number of special considerations. These include an elastomer that can withstand harsh environments, precision in design and molding, and superior rubber-to-fabric and rubber-to-metal bonding qualities, according to the company. The seals, which are designed to seal inflation valve aspirators as·pi·ra·tor (sp-r after full inflate volume is reached, are molded from silicone, a high performance elastomer said to be capable of withstanding temperature extremes of -60 to +400[degrees]F. The silicone is also said to exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, a durometer A of [+ or -]55, superior tensile strength, etc.
