Cushman joined Cushman & Wakefield Inc. in New York, NY in 1963 and then opened an office in Los Angeles in 1967. , who co-founded Cushman Realty with twin brother Louis Cushman, is expected to be named chairman of Cushman & Wakefield's board of directors. Louis Cushman, who is based in Houston, is expected to be named vice chairman. Under the deal, the Cushman Realty name would disappear and the firm's approximately 200 employees in 11 offices would be merged with Cushman & Wakefield's much larger organization, which includes about 9,000 employees worldwide. Terms of the deal, which is subject to approval by both companies' boards of directors, were not disclosed. Cushman & Wakefield was founded near the turn of the century by John and Louis Cushman's grandfather and great uncle. The brothers worked for Cushman & Wakefield until establishing their own firm in 1978. |
