Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey promotes ten brokers.

Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey has announced the promotion of 10 brokers based in its East Rutherford and Parsippany offices to the positions of director and associate director. They include William A. Brown III of New Providence; Jose R. Cruz of Edgewater; Edward J. Duenas of Martinsville; Stephen D. Elman of Allendale; Geraldine L. O'Dell of Ridgewood; Jacqueline Rowe of New York City; Walter Schoenberg of Randolph; Matthew D. Seltzer of Hillsdale; David. N. Stifelman of Morris Twp. and James T. Yamauchi of Old Tappan.

William A. Brown III, who has been named director, joined Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey's Parsippany office in 1995. His accomplishments include serving as a key member of a brokerage team specifically assembled to dispose of more than 350 locations for a major United States corporation. The project was completed within one year, resulting in substantial savings for the client.

For the past four years Brown has managed transactions for a Fortune 100 company on the east coast and was selected to direct the on-site Cushman & Wakefield team for Avaya, Inc., representing them in three-quarters of the United States as well as Europe, Africa, Latin America and Canada.

Jose R. Cruz has been appointed to associate director with Cushman & Wakefield's Financial Services Group based in East Rutherford, which provides counsel on acquisitions, dispositions and financings for all property types.

During 2000, FSG orchestrated more than $700 million in transactions in the tri-state area. Highlights included the largest regional sale in the past two years, involving a 90 percent interest in Lincoln Equity Group's 1.45 million SF northern New Jersey office portfolio, which was purchased by Investcorp International and Crow Holdings. In addition, FSG recently represented J.P. Morgan Investment Management in the $55 million disposition of Somerset Financial Center in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Edward J. Duenas, promoted to director, joined Cushman & Wakefield's East Rutherford office in 1995, where he specializes in corporate leasing and sales. In 1997, he received Cushman & Wakefield's New York Area "most promising broker" award.

His recent leasing accomplishments include representing Equinix in a 338,000 SF transaction in Secaucus, and negotiating a 32,000 SF lease for Xebeo Communications in South Plainfield. With extensive landlord representation experience, Duenas serves as exclusive leasing agent for several notable New Jersey properties, including the 1 million SF PSE&G Plaza in Newark, the 160,000 SF Court Plaza in Hackensack, the 50,000 SF 333 Washington Street office building in Jersey City and the 150,000 SF Nabisco divisional headquarters disposition in Parsippany.

Stephen D. Elman, who has been promoted to director in the East Rutherford office, joined Cushman and Wakefield of New Jersey in 1993 as an industrial brokerage specialist. His corporate assignments have included industrial, office and hi-tech transactions for such notable clients as Bell Atlantic, SteriGenics, BestFoods, PF Labs, Quizz Apparel, Johnson Controls, Boise Cascade Office Products, and Hennes and Mauritz.

During the past few years, his most notable landlord and tenants representation assignments throughout the country have included Noodle Kidoodle's acquisition of 225,000 SF in Murfreeboro, Tennessee; Western Carriers acquisition of 235,000 SF in North Bergen, New Jersey; Shaklee's Corporation's acquisition of 125,000 SF in Columbus, Ohio; and the sale of a 164,000 SF manufacturing building for Pioneer Industries in Carlstadt, N.J., among others.

Geraldine L. O'Dell joined Cushman & Wakefield's Parsippany, New Jersey, office in 1999 as an associate director, and has now been promoted to director. Her clients include such notable organizations as Harris Semiconductor, Alfred Dunner, Mitsubishi International Corporation, American Cyanamid Company, Benjamin Moore Company and Sprint PCS.

During her 11-year career, O'Dell has completed more than 100 real estate transactions and has been responsible for leasing more than 1 million SF of office space. She also has sold several office buildings and land sites.

Jacqueline Rowe has been promoted to director at Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey's East Rutherford office. She joined the firm in 1985 and specializes in representation of tenants and owners of commercial office space.

During her 15-year career, Rowe has completed more than $750 million in transactions on behalf of such companies as MetLife, Oracle Corp, Metromedia, Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc., Zambon Corp., GMAC, Solgar Vitamin & Herb Co. and The Museum Company, among others.

Rowe's most notable projects include serving as exclusive leasing agent for Metropolitan Executive Towers in East Rutherford, New Jersey, a 400,000 SF Class A office building, as well as Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. in leasing more than 60,000 SF of office space in Pearl River, New York. In addition, she has represented Solgar Vitamin & Herb Co. in the leasing of a 130,000 SF facility in Lyndhurst.

Walter Schoenberg, director, joined Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey's East Rutherford office in 1988. Since then, he has been involved in more than $750 million in transactions, ranging from 1,500 SF to more than 130,000 SF.

Schoenberg currently serves as an account executive, on a strategic partner level, for companies such as Rockwell International and Utica National Insurance Group with multiple location real estate needs. In addition, he has represented clients such as BestFoods, American Re-Insurance, Exide Technologies, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Ceridian Corporation, Miele Appliances, ADT, US Trust, ABB Energy Ventures, Proctor & Gamble, Matrix Development and Starwood Properties.

Matthew D. Seltzer has been promoted to director in Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey's East Rutherford office. He joined the firm in 1997 and has nearly two decades of experience in the commercial real estate field.

Seltzer specializes in representing corporate tenants as their consultant and broker. He has completed more than $650 million in office, hi-tech and industrial assignments on behalf of such companies as Agilent Technologies, Inc., Blueflame Inc., Computer Learning Centers, Ford Motor Corp., Loeb Partners Corp., MetLife, Miramax Film Corp., National Semiconductor Corp., Parexel International Inc. and Petersons.com.

David N. Stifelman has been promoted to director with Cushman & Wakefield. He joined the firm's East Rutherford office in 1995, specializing in office leasing and sales. During his 12-year career in the New York metropolitan area, Stifelman has completed more than 100 real estate transactions and has been responsible for leasing more than 2.5 million $F of office space. In addition, he has completed several large land transactions.

Stifelman's notable project in New Jersey included LeFrak's Newport Office Center III, IV and VII in Jersey City, totaling nearly 2.5 million SF. In addition, he has served on the leasing team for the 629,000 SF Continental Plaza in Hackensack, the 115,000 SF 287 Executive Plaza in South Plainfield and the 75,000 SF Mt. Arlington Corporate Center in Mt. Arlington.

James T. Yamauchi, director, is a bilingual real estate specialist with more than 20 years of experience in leasing and sales, specializing in the representation of major multinational and Asian companies.

Currently, he is serving on the exclusive agency team representing NEC in the disposition of 75,000 square feet of industrial property in Guadalajara, Mexico. He is also working on the team seeking a long-term lease in excess of 350,000 square feet for Hitachi Transport in Atlanta, Georgia, and on the team hired to dispose of a 100,000-square-foot industrial building in Brooklyn.
