Cushman & Wakefield awarded contract for Sun Microsystem.

Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., the global real estate services finn, announced today that it has been awarded the facilities management contract for Sun Microsystem's national portfolio of office and industrial properties. Sun Microsystem's portfolio comprises 11 million SF in more than 220 properties. The contract is effective Oct. 1.

Cushman & Wakefield will provide a full spectrum of facilities management services including: a call center, mission critical site management, preventive maintenance, accounting and administration, engineering, moves, distance collaboration, environment and health safety conditions and energy management.

A key component of Cushman & Wakefield's Sun team will be the Business Integration Group ("BIG"), a Web-based property and facilities management solution. BIG's Web-enabled tools will provide critical information that will allow Sun and Cushman & Wakefield to measure and manage operating and financial performance on a 24/7/365 basis. BIG will provide a Web-based call center, and work management and move management tools. Ron Savage, CEO of BIG and Sherri Knauss, vice president, work management solutions, will be the team leaders from BIG.

The national assignment includes major office campuses in Burlington, Mass., Broomfield, Cob., Santa Clara, Menlo Park, Newark, Palo Alto and San Diego, Calif. and Beaverton, Ore. It also contains flex offices and major drop-in centers that offer Sun employees creative work solutions and flexible work environments. These are contained within each of the campuses as well as in Georgia, Minnesota, Washington, Maryland, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, California, Florida, New Hampshire, New York, Kansas, Arizona, Virginia, Michigan, Connecticut, New Jersey and Missouri. Lastly, it includes field offices in other major cities throughout the country.

The account will be serviced from the San Francisco Bay area. The Cushman & Wakefield team will include Corrine Root as the account manager, Bill Dugan, as the transition director, Robert Teed as the operating executive, and Jim Arce, director, Asset Services Northern California. The account Advisory Board will include John Santora, executive vice president, Asset Services; Mike Cissell managing director, Corporate Services; and Bill Dugan, senior director, Asset Services, as well as members of Sun's real estate group.
