HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 2002

Cushcity.com, the most highly trafficked African-American e-commerce site in cyberspace, has joined with Verizon to host a two-day conference called "E-Commerce At A Profit," Thursday and Friday, Aug. 22-23, 2002, at the Verizon Tech Center in Harlem. A Houston-based firm, Cushcity.com touts the world's largest selection of African-American products on the Internet and receives more than 1.2 million monthly page views.

The keynote speaker will be Gwen Richardson, co-founder of Cushcity.com. Sonya Donaldson, former technology editor for Black Enterprise magazine, will also speak at the event.

Other conference participants include: Nicole Williams, president of Angelsbookstore.com; Keenan Davis of Unorthodoks Marketing; and Dina Tate, Web Site supervisor for Essencebymail.com.

This is the second of two e-commerce conferences hosted by Cushcity.com. The first was held in Houston in September of last year.

The conference targets African-American professionals, but anyone interested in learning about the intricacies of e-commerce can attend. The conference is open to the public and pre-registration is required. The registration fee is $179.00 and includes meals, panels/workshops and an 80-page handbook for Internet retailers.
