Curtis roars away with British title; MOTOCROSS.

 Curtis Blamey is celebrating after becoming a British champion.

 (British Final Motocross) championships in Swindon.

The small wheel rider took up the sport four years ago and hasn't looked back since. He was presented with the 65cc class Abergavenny Auto Club Championship trophy three years ago, and is now enjoying equal success in the 85cc class.

He suffered a ruptured spleen Rupture of the capsule of the spleen, an organ in the upper left part of the abdomen, is a potential catastrophe that requires immediate medical and surgical attention. Function of spleen  at the end of 2007 on the same track in Swindon, and mum Colleen Lewis said he was delighted to come away from the course with a victory.

She added: "He just loves riding at the moment and we are very proud.

"He went to watch the super cross when he was eight and just said he wanted to start, he had never even had a bike before then.

"Within a couple of years he had qualified for super cross.

"He loves riding and practises a couple of times a week now."

Curtis, from Llantrisant, rides for the Severn Valley club and is now hoping to build on his success at the BFMA Nationals in Gloucester in two weeks time, in which he currently lies second.
