Curtis Mathes Xpressway rolls out nationwide network.

Curtis Mathes Holding Corporation (NASDAQ:CRTM) announced today that eight additional points of presence (POP) hubs have been activated and integrated into its Curtis Mathes Xpressway(TM) network.

The eight hubs are located in Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland, and San Francisco. They are on-line and ready for the national distribution of the Curtis Mathes' uniView Internet appliance, scheduled to begin later this month.

UniView provides the consumer with access to the Internet via the Curtis Mathes Xpressway on-line service. Other features include e-mail, fax capabilities, up-to-date television listings, parental control features and a full duplex speaker phone. This unit can be connected to a home television set, or as a built in feature of Curtis Mathes televisions.

Access to the Curtis Mathes Xpressway in other cities will be provided by additional POP sites or via interconnect alliances. Upon completion of the initial roll-out phase, interconnects will be installed throughout the United States in order to provide maximum access to Curtis Mathes Xpressway users.

Curtis Mathes has established an advanced standard for connectivity to Internet appliances by adopting leading technology from Sun Microsystems, Inc., MCI Telecommunications Corp., and Cisco Systems, Inc. Curtis Mathes has also developed proprietary software enabling users to access the unique features of UniView.
