Additionally, the Company recognized a $1.2 million ($789,426 net of tax) deferred gain during this fiscal year due to early payoff of debt related to prior year operations. The decrease in revenues reflects the restructuring of the Company from a wholesaler of televisions and related consumer products to a manufacturer and marketer of Internet convergence products and services. Sales revenues for fiscal 1997 were realized from the sales of older inventories exchanged for the purchase of advertising time on national television networks. Revenues from the sales of uniView products will not be realized until the first quarter of fiscal year 1998. "With the beginning of uniView sales in July of this year, we believe we are on the road back to profitability," said Patrick A. Custer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Curtis Mathes.
