USDA Rural Development has provided programs for financing rural America's telecommunications infrastructure for over 50 years. The "traditional" infrastructure loan program, consisting of hardship, cost of money, Rural Telephone Bank, and guaranteed loans, provides financing of broadband and other advanced services. As a result of these innovative programs, rural carriers are providing more access and a higher deployment rate of access than ever before.

"The loan programs provided by USDA Rural Development's Rural Utilities Programs have been pivotal to developing fiber-to-the-home networks in communities throughout the United States," said Leonard Ray, President of the FTTH Council Board of Directors. "We are delighted to have Mr. Anderson address delegates about continued future support our industry can expect from RUS."
