Curtain up on sixties scandal.A SIXTIES scandal and the downfall of a government provides the political backdrop for a new play in Kenilworth. The Talisman Theatre group will be staging Hugh Whitemore's A Letter of Resignation on the Barrow Road stage from April 17 to 22. John Dawson takes the leading role as Macmillan, who tries to hold together both his government and personal life. The play - written three years ago - was a major hit in London with Edward Fox in the role of Macmillan. Ann Brooks directs the Talisman version, and the Scottish Castle settings are designed by Sheila Fitzgerald. |
