Curtain is coming down on Players.

THE curtain will soon come down on a popular amateur dramatic group preparing for their final production.

Members of the Waring Green Players are busy rehearsing for their last ever play and many of them found it to have fond and personal memories.

Their swan song in February will be JB Priestley's When We Are Married. At the end of the run members will call time for good.

After 57 years cast and crew made the decision to close after a reduction in membership.

But they hope to go out with a bang and are appealing for former supporters and am dram dram: see English units of measurement.

 lovers to buy a ticket for the final shows at the Garden Road theatre.

Director Pat Pearson acted in the play the first time the Players staged it in 1982. She went on to direct it in 1996 and resumes the director's role for the final time.

For her daughter, Rachel Owens, this particular play is proving to be a bitter-sweet last show, as it was also her first ever show with the Players back in 1982, aged 16.

And they are keeping it in the family with Pat's niece NIECE, domestic relations: The daughter of a person's brother or sister. Amb. 514; 1 Jacob's Ch. R. 207. , Felicity Austin, nephew NEPHEW, dom. rel. The son of a person's brother or sister. Amb. 514; 1 Jacob's Ch. R. 207.  Elliot Austin and daughter Charlotte Owens also involved.

Janet Saunders is the longest-serving member of the Players cast, along with Liz Ashton, who appeared in many productions in the 70s and 80s.

 Janet Austin has been with the company since the 1970s and will be able to show her skills one last time.

When We Are Married runs at the Waring Green Community Centre, Garden Road, Brighouse, from February 4 to the 7th, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost pounds 6 for adults and pounds 4 for concessions.
