Curtain call for architecture and design showcase.


The Center for Architecture (536 LaGuardia Place, between W. 3rd St. and Bleecker) will hold the fourth annual Architecture Week from October 6-12, New York's premier showcase for architecture and design.

Presented by the American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA  New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of

Among the highlights of Architecture Week is the opening of "Going Public 2" on October 10, on view through December 31, presented in concert with the 2006 AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture  new York Chapter Theme, Architecture as Public Policy. Highlighting the efforts of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg to enhance the city's built environment, Case Studies of the Mayor's Design and Construction Excellence Initiative will focus on seven projects and look at how the NYC NYC
