In the face of recent economic difficulties felt throughout the industry, Curt G. Jon, Inc. continues to hold its place as a major player in the field of custom converting equipment. The past 12 months have seen a number of major changes in the Jon organization, each directed at assuring a strong future and improved value delivered to its customers.

First, a decision was made to consolidate the Boynton Beach Boynton Beach, city (1990 pop. 46,194), Palm Beach co., SE Fla., on the Atlantic coast; inc. 1920. , WI. The primary purpose of this move was to eliminate duplicate support systems and to exploit the stronger industrial resource base in the Wisconsin area. A number of key employees have made the transfer to Wisconsin, assuring continuity in support for current and recent business activities.

Second, Jon has created an additional office in Andernach, Germany, as a major effort to better provide the sales, service and support required by the growing economy of the European Union European Union (EU), name given since the ratification (Nov., 1993) of the Treaty of European Union, or Maastricht Treaty, to the

European Community
. Jon has been very fortunate to acquire the services of Gustav Schneider as managing director for this new operation. Mr. Schneider will be supported by his assistant, Ms. Kerstin Mallmann. Additionally, Mr. Christoph Wagner has joined the staff as project and service engineer. It is expected that customers will quickly recognize the strategic benefits to be gained from the addition of this operation.

Third, Jon has developed a high-speed, high technology diaper converting line as a demonstration of current Jon process, drives and control technology. This line, named the J6, is designed for 450 meters per minute or 1000 diapers per minute and features off-line unwinds, full-face safety lockout lockout, intentional closing up of a company, factory, or shop by an employer to prevent employees from working during a strike or labor dispute.
