THAT'S hot stuff! A Birmingham curry house backed a charity football tournament by providing top nosh for more than 250 hungry players.

The event was organised by the Salvation Army's housing arm for its homeless residents across the UK.

Raj Rana, of Itihaas, said: "Football unites people and is good fun.

"The event is a brilliant initiative by the Salvation Army Salvation Army, Protestant denomination and international nonsectarian Christian organization for evangelical and philanthropic work. Organization and Beliefs


The Salvation Army has established branches in 100 countries throughout the world.
 that encourages people finding their feet to shine, work in a team and build their self-esteem.

"Itihaas is a great believer in enabling people to help themselves. It is the only way to guarantee sustainability and we see this event as a perfect example of the idea."

Itihaas has been lending a helping hand to the Salvation Army in Birmingham since 2005 by preparing and delivering a curry once a week for the homeless.
