Curriculum Advantage Hires Pamela Nelson to Lead Strategic Development.

Curriculum Advantage, Inc. announced today Pamela Nelson will join the company as the senior vice president of corporate development and strategy. She will guide short-term and long-term development strategies, product positioning and marketing strategies and build on the substantial growth with Curriculum Advantage's flagship product, Classworks.

In recent months, four leading educational organizations have endorsed Curriculum Advantage's Classworks, including the Florida School Boards Association, the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders, the Illinois Association of School Administrators and the Texas Association of School Administrators. New Classworks import utilities that automatically import student test results from high-stakes tests -- such as the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT), the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) and the Illinois Standards Achievement Test -- are key to the development strategy to give educators more effective tools for diagnosing student proficiency, while creating individualized lessons without additional investment in time, testing or curriculum planning.

Ms. Nelson has over 25 years of experience as an executive with education companies including Holt, Rinehart and Winston; PowerSchool, a division of Apple Computer; The Learning Company; CCC; Pearson Education; and Open Court Publishing. Nelson has extensive experience in technology product development and marketing in the education marketplace. Ms. Nelson received a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Kansas and a bachelor's degree in education from the University of New Mexico. She is active with the Software Industry and Information Association (SIIA), where she served as a Board Member for several years. Currently, she is a member of the education division board where she is chairman of the marketing committee and received a Making It Happen award for her accomplishments in the industry.
