Current Analysis, a research firm, has revealed that for the first time ever notebooks have outsold out·sold  
v.
Past tense and past participle of outsell.
 desktops in the United States in a calendar month.

According to the company, notebook sales accounted for 53% of the total personal computer market last month, up from 46% during the same period last year.

During the past year notebook prices fell 17% while desktop prices only decreased by 4%, whilst at the same time notebook quality has improved with features such as longer-lasting batteries, CD burners and wireless capability.

In addition, Current Analysis has also revealed that last year 80% of notebooks offered a wireless service whilst this year it is now in the region of 95%.
