Curl Bolsters Sales, Business Development Teams; Industry Veterans Fill Sales, Business Development, and Channel Sales Positions Following $17.9M Funding Round.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 2003

To support its cost-cutting advantages of the X Internet, Curl Corporation today announced it has bolstered its sales and business development teams with three new executive appointments following the company's recent funding round of $17.9 million.

David S. Wilner joins Curl as senior director of sales, responsible for developing and growing the company's internal and direct sales organizations. Chris Lesar is Curl's new senior director of business development, charged with establishing business relationships with large platform providers and systems integrators, as well as maintaining analyst relations Analyst relations is a corporate communications and public relations activity whereby businesses aim to influence technology industry analysts (also known as research analysts) who work for independent research and consulting firms. The two largest U.S. . Sted Dowd is Curl's new senior director of channel sales and development, responsible for building the company's worldwide force of ISVs, systems integrators, and channel partners.

In December 2002, Curl announced the closing of its Series D round of financing, led by Baker Capital and Equity Group Holdings. Additional investors include Baring Capricorn Venture Fund Ltd. and Capricorn Venture Funds. The $17.9 million funding round brings the total amount of investment in Curl Corporation to more than $60 million over the past four years. Curl Corporation intends to apply this round of funding to its continued efforts to bolster sales and marketing initiatives.
