), the nation's third largest owner-and-operator of radio stations, today announced that it has donated WHQO-FM, based in Skowhegan, Maine Skowhegan is a town in Somerset County, Maine, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 8,824. It includes Skowhegan Village and the resort of Lakewood, home of the Lakewood Theater. , to Maine Public Broadcasting public broadcasting: see broadcasting. .

WHQO-FM reaches a population of approximately 120,000 listeners throughout the southern part of Somerset County Somerset County is the name of four counties in the United States and one in England.

Cumulus cumulus: see cloud.  already owns WTOS-FM and had agreed to acquire WHQO-FM as well as WCTB-FM and WSKW-AM from Mountain Wireless, Inc. Cumulus will transfer the rights to WHQO-FM to Maine Public Broadcasting under the agreement announced today.

Cumulus Media is the parent company of Cumulus Broadcasting, Inc., which along with its other subsidiaries, owns and operates radio station clusters in mid-size markets.
