Cummins board names three executive vice presidents as company reorganizes into business groups.

:CUM) named three executive vice presidents as part of the company's reorganization into business groups announced March 21.

Appointed were C. Roberto Cordaro, executive vice president, group president - automotive; John K. Edwards, executive vice president, group president - power generation, and F. Joseph Loughrey, executive vice president, group president - industrial. Also, M. David Jones David Jones is a common name, particularly in Wales, and there have been several well-known individuals with this name. Variations include Dave Jones and Davy Jones.  was named to head the filtration business group as president - Fleetguard, a Cummins subsidiary. The executives will report to Tim Solso, president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Prior to joining Cummins, Edwards served in the Peace Corps in Colombia. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in economics from Claremont Men's College and Vanderbilt Univ., respectively. Edwards is a native of Erie, Pa.

F. Joseph Loughrey, 46, joined Cummins in 1974 and has served in the areas of manufacturing, engineering and human resources The fancy word for "people." He was named group vice president - worldwide operations in 1990 and assumed added responsibilities as chief technical officer in 1995. Loughrey received a B.S. degree in economics and African studies African studies (also known as Africana studies) is the study of Africa, and can encompass such fields as social and economic development, politics, history, culture, sociology, anthropology or linguistics. A specialist in African studies is referred to as an Africanist.  from the University of Notre Dame. He is a native of Holyoke, Mass.

M. David Jones, 49, joined Cummins in 1970 and has served in a number of positions at the company's Fleetguard filter subsidiary and in Cummins' parts and service operations. He was named vice president - aftermarket group in 1989. Jones holds a B.S. degree in engineering from Tennessee Technological Univ. and an M.B.A. from Harvard Univ. He is a native of Nashville, Tenn.
