Cummins Westport Receives Order for up to 750 Engines from Washington Metro Transit.

:CWI CWI - Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica ) today announced it has received an engine order for 150 C Gas Plus engines for buses for Washington Metropolitan Area The Washington Metropolitan Area, formally known as the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV MSA is a U.S. Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) as defined by the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as of November 2004.  Transit Authority (Metro). The order also includes an option for an additional 600 units. The CWI natural gas engines will be installed in 40-foot, low-floor buses manufactured by Orion Bus for delivery mid next year. This order brings to a total of 309 CWI C Gas Plus engines in use by Metro, and makes up 99% of their existing natural gas bus fleet.
