Cummins Inc. Hosts Tennessee Congressman Harold Ford Jr. at its Memphis Facility.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CMI) today welcomed Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D - Memphis) to the Company's Memphis Distribution Center (MDC), where he toured the facility and met with top Cummins executives in the state.

Cummins, based in Columbus, Indiana, is a Fortune 500 maker of diesel engines and related products including power generators, filtration equipment, turbochargers, fuel systems and exhaust aftertreatment devices.

Cummins Filtration business is headquartered in Nashville, and the Company directly employs more than 1,900 people in Tennessee. It also is responsible for providing 550 jobs through its logistics partner at the MDC, which is Cummins' largest distribution center in the United States.

After a tour of the 650,000-square-foot MDC that also included a discussion of Cummins' engine remanufacturing operation in Memphis, Rep. Ford received an overview about Cummins and the Company's commitment to Tennessee from Mills and Mike Cross, Vice President and General Manager - Cummins Emission Solutions.

The Cummins leaders also discussed the Company's readiness to meet the 2007 EPA emissions regulations for on-highway diesel-powered vehicles and the importance of widely available ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel in meeting the stringent requirements.

In addition to providing jobs and tax revenue in the state, Cummins and its employees actively contribute to the communities in Tennessee in which it operates.
