Culture Year campaign wins top PR award.


THE PR campaign for Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture scooped a major award.

The media strategy, which resulted in the city attracting more than pounds 200m in global media coverage in 08, won the Best Public Sector Communications Campaign at the How Do awards.

And the city could be on course to complete a PR prize double, as Capital of Culture has also been short listed for Best Public Relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  Campaign in the CIPR CIPR Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK)
CIPR Centre for Integrated Petroleum Research
CIPR Comisión Internacional de Protección Radiológica
CIPR Center for Imaging and Pharmaceutical Research
 Pride awards which will be announced on Wednesday.

Liverpool Council leader Warren Bradley Warren Bradley may be:
  • Warren Bradley (footballer), Manchester United and England player
  • Warren Bradley (politician), leader of Liverpool City Council
 said: "Being European Capital of Culture has done wonders for Liverpool's national and international profile and has created a feelgood platform for everyone connected to the city to build on.

"To win this PR award is no small achievement and is deserved recognition for everyone involved."
