WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2000--Cubus Corporation, a
leading developer of technology and services for business-to-business
project collaboration, today unveiled ReviewIt 2.1, a powerful new
version of its collaboration software for the AEC industry. The new
release supports additional file formats - including AutoCAD 2000 -
and introduces upgraded security features and printing capabilities.
Cubus' ReviewIt offers a best-of-breed collaboration solution for
the architectural, design and construction community - providing a
secure, single point of access where partners in any geographic
location or time zone can share, revise, monitor and archive project
information online, in real time. ReviewIt version 2.1 advances the
leading-edge technology, answering the industry's call for innovative
tools and features.

ReviewIt 2.1 highlights include:
-- Customized printing capability. ReviewIt 2.1 users can now
print a variety of project reports, customized to include
document views, annotations and threaded notes from project
discussions.
-- File locking. Project authors and administrators have access
to greater version control and increased file and
communications security with advanced file locking technology.
-- Expanded file format support. ReviewIt is compatible with
high-end AEC software and CAD files (including AutoCAD and
Microstation), as well as advanced image and text file
formats. Version 2.1 also supports AutoCAD 2000 and all MS
Office files (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
"ReviewIt 2.1 makes it easier than ever to collaborate with our
partners on complex construction projects," says Tom Kirk, a project
manager representing Rearden Steel, Inc. "The new features provide
improved options and flexibility, enabling us to customize the
solution to meet the unique needs of our business and the needs of our
partners."
Collaboration technology must be highly versatile, allowing
project managers to respond to the rapidly changing requirements of
today's construction environment, explains Kirk. "We're already
utilizing ReviewIt 2.1's advanced printing capabilities to provide
hard copies of project revisions for our on-site contractors, so that
they can react as quickly as possible to day-to-day - or even
hour-by-hour - adjustments."
According to Azhar Khan, President & CEO of Cubus Corporation,
ReviewIt 2.1 offers the most comprehensive business-to-business
project collaboration technology available.
"Architects, engineers and construction managers have asked for
more collaborative tools, and increased compatibility across the board
with the latest AEC, graphics and office software," Khan explains.
"ReviewIt 2.1 addresses these requests, and delivers greater
functionality, security and ease-of-use."
Khan also points to the flexibility and variety of pricing options
that Cubus offers. "ReviewIt technology can be licensed on a project
basis, per seat, or in-house as an enterprise package," he says.
All project data hosted with Cubus is secured through SSL (the
secure sockets layer of web e-commerce), and all traffic is encrypted
with high-level encryption. Projects are available by invitation-only
access with user password authentication. There are multiple levels of
user privileges within a project assigned by a project administrator.
Cubus helped pioneer web-based AEC collaboration in 1997, when the
company adopted visual-based collaboration technology for use with the
company's engineering staff and customers. The first versions of
ReviewIt were introduced in 1998.
ReviewIt 2.1 incorporates sophisticated communications, workflow
automation and project management capabilities to create a powerful,
Internet-based solution for partners, vendors and consultants to work
closely and efficiently on complex projects, 24x7. By simplifying
interaction among project team members, ReviewIt reduces the time and
expense involved in multiple phone calls, faxes, couriers and
in-person meetings. Cubus patent-pending technology interacts with
complex graphics and data sets such as plans, blueprints, photographs
and more.
Cubus Corporation, headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., is a
