) today announced that it has elected to adopt the notice and access or "e-proxy" rules recently adopted by the Securities and Exchange Commission for its 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. These rules allow Cubist to provide stockholders with access to proxy materials Proxy Materials

 for the Annual Meeting via the Internet. Taking advantage of these new rules will allow Cubist to lower the cost of printing and mailing proxy materials to its stockholders and reduce the environmental impact of printing and mailing these materials.

Stockholders have been sent a notice by mail that details how to access the proxy materials and vote their shares via the Internet. The notice also provides stockholders with instructions on how to request hard copies of the proxy materials at no charge.
